Context

MindHYVE.ai was building Agentic AI Operating Systems for regulated, knowledge-intensive institutions—education, healthcare, law, and theology. The platform spans a four-layer architecture: substrate, compound reasoning, digital employees, and customer-facing operating systems including ArthurAI. Adoption depended on institutions trusting AI-assisted workflows without surrendering consequential control.

My role

As Manager, Agentic Experience, I owned UX strategy and experience design for ArthurAI (the Agentic Learning OS) and Eve orchestration flows. This included journey mapping, interaction models for bounded agency, prototyping with AI-native tools, and design system direction aligned to the Eve-Fusion compound architecture—working across product, engineering, and institutional stakeholders.

Approach

Started by mapping where AI could reason versus where humans must decide—especially in education where the motto became “The AI reasons. The educator decides.” Used v0, Cursor AI, and Figma to accelerate flow exploration while curating patterns that matched institutional governance needs. Prototyped orchestration flows for Eve routing work across specialized agents, and designed Arthur’s teacher-facing experience across four institutional editions (SLE, ULE, VLE, CLE).

Key decisions

  • Bounded agency over full autonomy — designing for human consequential control in regulated verticals rather than “set and forget” AI.
  • Orchestration visibility — making Eve’s routing and context-handoff understandable so operators trust multi-agent workflows.
  • Edition-based architecture — separating institutional learning contexts (school, university, vocational, corporate) without fragmenting the core interaction model.
  • AI-native delivery — using generative tools for speed, but keeping human judgment central in every design decision shipped to production.

What I learned

  • Agentic UX fails when users cannot see who (or what) is acting—transparency is a feature, not a compliance checkbox.
  • In regulated domains, the design question is rarely “Can AI do this?” but “Who is accountable when it does?”
  • Design systems for agentic products must encode trust states—confidence, escalation, override—not just color and type.
